Hoshi Gato is reopening for pre-orders on August 25th, 2025! Our new bottles will be available for pre-order on September 1st.
Here are the details:
Old Bottle Pre-orders
- All of our perfumes will be available at launch, with the exception of Maple Sugar.
- Pre-orders will be open for two weeks, and once they close, we’ll begin fulfillment right away.
- Our original Himiko-style bottles will return for $55, available while supplies last.
- The original sample packs will also be back at 6 for $25, while supplies last.
- When we no longer have enough original samples for packs, the remaining ones will be offered individually at $5 each.
New Bottle Pre-orders
- We have new bottles and will begin preorders for the new bottles one week after pre-orders for the old ones (September 1st).The new bottles will also take 2 weeks! I'm giving myself some extra time to finish the design and order them so they look perfect!
- Our brand-new 30ml bottles will debut at $65 and will arrive in custom packaging.
- New sample packs will be 5 for $25. Each will now be 1.7ml (instead of 1.5ml) and will come in custom packaging as well.
- Individual new samples will also be available for $6 each.
- All of our perfumes will feature new labels with clearer artwork, printed on high-quality vinyl sticker paper.

Why pre-orders?
We had hoped to reopen as usual, but with supplier changes, tariffs, rising costs, discontinuations, and moving, things became more complicated than expected. Still, so many of you have been patiently waiting and planning for this launch, and we didn’t want to postpone any longer. Additionally, we have a limited number of our old bottles available and would like to clear our inventory of them before we really get going!
Not into pre-orders?
That’s completely fine! Unless something truly unexpected happens, regular orders will be available in just two weeks (3 weeks from now for new bottles).
Refund policy
We ask that you agree to wait up to two weeks from August 25, 2025 for fulfillment to begin, and up to two additional weeks for your order to be completed. We don’t expect it to take this long, but we are including the extra time just in case. Orders are always fulfilled in the order they are received.
If we aren’t able to begin fulfillment within two weeks—or finish within four weeks total—you are welcome to request a cancellation and full refund. We promise to be upfront if anything affects these timelines.
Maple Sugar
To be honest, there is a material within Maple Sugar that has gotten so expensive we cannot afford to restock it at the moment. I am considering reformulating it to have less of this material. For the time being, it will not be restocked. I will let all of you know when that changes!
50ml Bottles
We have around 100 of these bottles which I mistakenly ordered instead of the 30mls. I started selling them for a short period of time before the close and will likely bring them back in the new style. However, I know that selling them out will take longer than I'd like so I'm selling them to another perfumer!
Price Increase?
I apologize for having to increase our prices. The reason for this is, of course, the rising costs of everything industry-wide due to import tariffs. Additionally, I moved to Washington, a state with a much higher cost of living.
I originally started Hoshi Gato with a lower price point than other comparable brands so I could convince people to give us a try. I cut a lot of costs by doing everything myself. I made my boxes by hand and improvised my own accessibility solutions. I personally designed everything from my logo and mascot to my website and these emails! As Hoshi Gato grows, I'm finding it very hard to keep up with all of this labor. I would like to start ordering high quality packaging and spend my time fulfilling orders, interacting with customers, and writing my accord book.
While I understand that many businesses are raising prices far beyond what they need to out of greed, I assure you that's not the case here. To this day, any money made from Hoshi Gato has gone straight back into the business and I expect that will be the case for the foreseeable future. I hope that these increases don't cause a huge burden on any of you. I know times are tough and seem to only be getting tougher. So, I greatly appreciate any continued support.
